LG's SL90 series, which uses LED edge-lighting technology and is available in 42-inch ($2,099 MSRP) and 47-inch ($2,399 MSRP) screen sizes, answered market needs as indicated in several LG-identified consumer wants unearthed in the company’s market research. These include desire for LED technology and eco-friendliness.

The sets are Energy Star 3.0-rated and offer calibration options including an Energy Saving button on the remote and a built-in Intelligent Sensor that adapts the screen brightness to a room’s ambient lighting. Further, a feature called Picture Wizard on the remote allows the viewer to call up on-screen picture adjustment parameters that let him or her calibrate the image, providing the viewer with recommendations about what to change.
